Week 12 Recap & Playoff Push

Well, this season has flown by.  We're already through Week 12 and only 3 weeks of the regular season left.  Which means playoff spots are going to be won & lost in the next few matchups.

There are between 7 & 9 players vying for a playoff spot, depending on how optimistic you want to be.

3 teams are currently sitting at 7-5, with Jordan right behind at 6-6 and Ramsey still in the hunt at 5-7.  We have seen teams win their last 3-4 games to clinch the last playoff spot before, so it wouldn't surprise me to see it again.

On to the matchups..

Brice vs Eric

Brice has unfortunately dropped 3 in a row BUT he's still sitting in a good spot at 7-5.

CMC did "CMC-things" on Monday Night Football, but he was going to need a Herculean effort, as Jahmyr Gibbs contributed nearly 50 points to my win this week.

Brice faces off with Matt in Week 13, in a matchup with significant playoff implications.

Zach vs Kent

Zach got a 30-point effort out of Jalen Hurts, and Amon-Ra notched his highest yardage total of the season to get the "W" this week vs Kent.  While it may be too late for either team to have aspirations for a playoff spot, it's a matter of pride at this point.

Kent's team was led by Derrick Henry, as the Ravens have been able to lean on their run game lately.  Rashee Rice also put up 141 yards on 12 targets, although he's apparently now dealing with a hamstring issue.  Seems like Kent's team just can't catch a break this season.

Zach gets a matchup with Kyle in Week 13, while Kent will go up against Dan.

Dan vs Ramsey

George Pickens has a couple games in a row now with 140+ yards and a score, helping Dan to nab his 3rd straight win in his victory over Ramsey this week.

Dan moves up to 7-5 on the season, and his team is averaging a blistering 135 points over the past 3 weeks.

He'll be hoping to ride that wave through the next few matchups to clinch a playoff bid.  In a matchup that I'm sure will have very little trash talk whatsoever, Dan goes up against Kent in Week 13.

Ramsey lost a close matchup with a respectable team effort.  I'm tired of talking about Jaxon Smith-Njigba.  He's the #1 WR in scoring, and it's not even particularly close.  He's the first player in NFL history with 75+ receiving yards through the first 11 games.

While Ashton Jeanty & Tyrone Tracy also put up solid efforts, it wasn't enough to get past Dan.

Ramsey squares off with Tom in Week 13.

Jordan vs Tom

Tom has been on a heater lately, and this week marks his 3rd consecutive win.  Sitting in 2nd place at 8-5 with 3 weeks to play is a pretty comfortable spot to be in.

Guess it's pretty nice having the Stafford/Davante Adams stack, as Stafford has thrown 9 TDs to Adams over their last 5 games.  The formidable starting RB duo of Bijan & James Cook doesn't hurt either.

Tom will look to make it 4-in-a-row when he faces off with Ramsey in Week 13.

Jordan's team is dealing with a couple pretty rough injuries, with both Josh Jacobs & Drake London ruled out this week...and his lineup paid the price.

WR Michael Wilson was really the only lone bright spot.  He's amassed 25 receptions & over 300 yards just in the past couple games.

Jordan drops down to .500 at 6-6 and gets a matchup with me this week.

Kyle vs Matt

We appreciate Kyle & Matt leaving the points for the rest of the league this week.  Matt narrowly comes out on top, in the low-scoring affair.  A.J Brown & Travis Etienne both found the endzone for Matt's team, while Kyle ALMOST got the dreaded "zero-TD" week... but was saved by a....rushing TD from DK Metcalf.  Guess that's one way for the Steelers to get production out of Metcalf.

Amazingly, not even a TD toss or run from QB Josh Allen..

Kyle drops to 4-8, while Matt is firmly in the playoff hunt sitting at 7-5.

Best of luck to ya'll in Week 13 & Happy Thanksgiving!

Week 10 Recap

Can't believe we're already through Week 10.. that means there's only 5 weeks left in the regular season.

Also a friendly reminder that the league trade deadline is November 22nd.

    1. Trey McBride (Dan)
    2. Tyler Warren (Eric)
    3. Tucker Kraft (RIP)
    4. Jake Ferguson (Kent)
    5. Travis Kelce (Matt)

    On to the matchups..

Tom got the win over Kyle's team in Week 10.

Matt Stafford is the first player in NFL history with 4+ passing TDs and no interceptions in 3 straight games.  Tom also has Davante Adams for the QB/WR stack, and Adams has been the beneficiary of 6 of those TDs over that 3-game stretch.

Tom moves up to 6-4 and gets a matchup with Brice in Week 11.

Kyle did get relatively productive games out of Breece Hall and Josh Allen, but Barkley couldn't get much going on the ground in the Monday Night game, and none of his receivers managed over 35 yards.

Kyle drops to 4-6 and will go up against me this week.

Jordan was the victor vs Kent this week, in a matchup decided by less than half a point.

Drake London now has back-to-back 100-yard games and 4 TDs in his last 2 outings.

Kyren Williams had a multi-TD game in their trouncing of the 49ers, and Josh Jacobs has been about as reliable as they come... he has found the endzone in all but 1 game this season, and has 11 TDs on the year so far.

Also...gotta say, that Rico Dowdle trade has seemed to work in his favor more often than not.

Jordan has now won SIX STRAIGHT and turned 0-4 into 6-4.  Love to see it.  He'll hope to make it 7 straight when he faces off with Dan in Week 11.

Well...Kent loses this week in a razor-thin matchup.  Not sure what Kent did to piss off the fantasy gods..

On paper, he has a lot of quality pieces.  Daniel Jones and the Colts have been phenomenal, Derrick Henry is....well, Derrick Henry, and D'Andre Swift, Jaylen Waddle, and DeVonta Smith have been solid all season.  However, injuries to CeeDee and his two rookie RBs have taken their toll, and created a "what could have been" scenario.

He's probably in "must-win" territory for the rest of the regular season, but his teams have done that before to make the playoffs, so I'm not counting him out.

Kent gets a matchup with Ramsey in Week 11.

Well, pour one out for Zach's team, as he dropped his 5th straight in his matchup with Ramsey this week.

Zach falls to 2-8, and while I haven't done the math, things are looking pretty dire to have any chance at the playoffs.  It's still fun to play spoiler and get to destroy other team's playoff hopes, at the very least.

He'll look to do just that when he squares off with Matt in Week 11.

Ramsey had a recent rough stretch, but gets back in the win column thanks to a solid performance by George Kittle (turns out Kittle DOES actually play football sometimes, even if it seems he's rarely on the field).

Jaxon Smith-Njigba may be the most consistent fantasy WR out there.  He's a "set and forget" guy week-in, week-out, and this week was no exception.

Ashton Jeanty has to run behind a Raiders o-line that doesn't help him much, but he did find the endzone this week to save his fantasy numbers.

Ramsey gets a date with Kent this week.

Dan (the man) put up his highest point total of the season, en route to beating up on Brice's team this week.

It only took 10 weeks, but we finally saw the breakout of Pats RB TreVeyon Henderson.  The Patriots have a pretty juicy RB schedule coming up, so it's looking like he could be a quality start rest-of-season.

Nico Collins posted his best fantasy number of the season, and Trey McBride has been on fire lately as he's found the endzone at least once in 4 straight games.

Dan now sits even at 5-5 and will look to tag on another win when he faces off with Jordan in Week 11.

Apart from Kimani Vidal, Brice's team just played a little flat this week.  CMC, Puka, and Lamar Jackson all had their 2nd-lowest point totals of the season.

Brice drops to 7-3 and relinquishes his spot at #1 in the standings, which he's held on to pretty much all season.

He'll look to claim that back when he goes up against Tom's team in Week 11.

For Matt's team...another week, another dominating performance by JT.  Jonathan Taylor is the only player in NFL history with 4 games of 3+ rushing TDs in the first 10 weeks.

Unfortunately for Matt, my RB duo of Gibbs & Achane weren't about to take things sitting down, and I escaped with the win in a very high-scoring matchup.

The Colts are on Bye in Week 11, so at least Zach will benefit from not having to play against JT when he squares off with Matt this week.

That's it for me.  Best of luck on the waiver wire & in your week 11 matchups.
